As you have read before, we have just completed the appeal by Maurice Vissers. Michael Ruperti represented him, and the Secretary of Defense was represented by her lawyer, or better yet, our lawyer. Our lawyer, because this company collects around thirty million euros from our tax dollars every year. So if you want to put it really twisted, Maurice helped pay for the defense of his own opponent. Pretty sick, right? But if you read a little further, that is not the sickest thing my story tells. It can be much sicker.

Final conclusion

Maurice stated that it is quite hypocritical that he was fired for allegedly having ties with criminals, while the motorcycle clubs he was associated with were not even banned at the time, while the government is affiliated with the law firm Pels Rijcken, which is also not exactly has been found to be free from having ties to criminals. In fact, they had a chairman who defrauded their own customers to the amount of around eleven million euros, without realizing it, according to them. So to what extent do they dare to speak out about someone else while they are no better themselves? The fraud goes down as the largest fraud ever committed by a notary. Even in the United States they call it a shame. Something with a throwing stones and living in a glass house…

My conclusion is that if Maurice still loses his appeal, the government would be better off saying goodbye to this law firm, because hey, equal monks, equal hoods. Ties with criminals are ties to criminals. Ties with criminals are ties to criminals. and that they will say that it is ‘different’ and that they are also the victims, but research showed that they themselves opened the door to allow this fraud to be committed. No, it is different because in the Netherlands we are dealing with class justice. Fortunately, in that case Maurice may not be supported by the state and by his employer for whom he was willing to give his life several times for almost thirty years, but clearly by an extremely broad support base.

Mister Integrity

That’s what Frank Oranje was called for years, because he always said that integrity was crucial for a position as a notary. He kept track of everything and even the most minuscule expenses were neatly filed in the papers. He was a man who had everything. A family, a top position at a major law firm, and a capital villa in the Belgian park in The Hague. As it sounds, that man had a fantastic life… But as they say at Pels Rijcken: ‘How you look determines how you see it.’ Apparently it wasn’t enough, because he has made millions in just under twenty years. printed. He made the biggest hit in 2018 by embezzling an amount of seven point eight million euros in one go, which actually belonged to the victims of an insurance company. So he wasn’t that honest. In fact, he was far from honest.

That says something about this law firm. Hij heeft dit al die jaren kunnen doen zonder dat er ooit een haan naar heeft gekraaid. The occasion made the thief obviously, and where there were red flags, they were vehemently ignored by the entire office. Everything was also overlooked by fellow notaries and even his protege. Coincidence? I highly doubt that, but no evidence for it can be found. Everyone at Pels Rijcken had their eyes very much in their pockets, and I wonder how such an office can continue to act as the state’s attorney. After all, ties with criminals are ties with criminals. Right?

Like hoods

Frank Oranje was therefore the thorn in the side of ‘our’ national lawyer. This was because Frank Oranje himself took his own life in 2020 after FIOD discovered his fraudulent actions. The ‘Schaap’ case was extremely sensitive in The Hague and several MPs wondered – quite rightly – whether the government could still continue with this law firm. In any case, some ministers, such as Ferd Grapperhaus, became quite anxious, because Frank Oranje also advised several ministers. In 2023, there is still an investigation going on, but they are still the state attorney, and that surprises me, because I stick to the credo: ties with criminals are ties with criminals. Even worse, Maurice once shook hands and had a photo with some of them, but the state even cooperated with them. And that is something completely different…

I therefore do not really understand why our government extended the contract with this state attorney last June. If you put the things together, I think it is clear that this entire situation should be a good reason to restore Maurice’s reputation by giving him back his certificate of no objection. This guy simply deserves to get his life back on track. Because I would rather see someone like Maurice defend the country than such a bureaucratic office noob who can hardly find the proper documents or does not know which articles she refers to, as was the case recently during the hearing.
